Last winter, Gene Klebeck of Pattison Ag traveled to Invermay School to meet with all four AET students, their school, and teacher supervisor following their AET student placements. Valerie Gendreau, teacher supervisor for AET, provides her insights.
Post-Placement Conference for AET Students in Invermay
Update from Valerie Gendreau, teacher supervisor
Earlier this year, we were able to have a wonderful opportunity to meet and have a post-placement conference with Gene Klebeck, the Service Manager for Pattison AG, Melissa Grona, Principal of Invermay School, and the 4 AET students who were placed with Gene at Pattison.
Gene went over the assessments with the students and provided an overview of what is needed for employability skills, work skills, and trade-specific skills. The students had opportunities to ask questions and provide feedback on their experience at Pattison AG. Students were able to look at their individual assessments before providing me with the documents. They were invited to ask questions in general or if it was specific to their assessment, they could ask after the meeting. All four students were advised that they could use Gene as a reference for any future employment.
The one Grade 11 student has decided to carry on and complete AET 30 as well, and Gene offered a placement again at Preeceville AG.
